The deal, in plain words

1. Who you are buying from
Acquabuddy Ltd, a company registered in England and Wales, company number 17439266, registered office 40 Tenth Street, Blackhall Colliery, Hartlepool, England, TS27 4LY. Email info@acquabuddy.com, phone +44 7782 631051. "We", "us" and "Acquabuddy" mean this company.
2. What we sell
Red Sea REEFER G3 aquarium systems: the glass display tank, in-cabinet sump, pipework and cabinet, sold as one system. Return pumps, skimmers, lights and other equipment are not part of the system price; if you ask us for them, they are listed and priced separately on your quote. We sell equipment only. We do not sell fish, coral or any other livestock, and nothing on this site is advice on keeping them.
Acquabuddy Ltd is an independent retailer. We buy the tanks and resell them, and we leak-test every tank before dispatch. We are not the manufacturer, and we are not part of, or authorised by, Red Sea. Red Sea and REEFER are trade marks of their owner and are used here only to name the products.
3. Prices
- All prices are in pounds sterling (GBP).
- The price shown for a tank is the price you pay for the tank. Acquabuddy Ltd is not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added and no VAT invoice is issued.
- Delivery is charged separately, by postcode and tank size, and is shown on your quote before you pay.
- The price on your written quote is the price you pay. It does not change after you have paid.
4. How an order is made
- You tell us the model, the cabinet colour and your delivery postcode, by email or phone.
- We send you a written quote: tank price, delivery cost, and either a dispatch time (a tank in stock) or a lead time (a tank we order in for you).
- You pay by card through a secure Stripe payment link, or by bank transfer to the account named on the quote. We never take card details by phone or email.
- Your order is accepted, and the contract made, when we email you an order confirmation after your payment clears. Until then either of us can walk away with no charge.
5. Payment
- Stock tanks are paid in full and dispatched within 10 working days of payment clearing.
- Tanks we order in for you are paid as a 30% deposit, then the balance before dispatch. Both amounts and the lead time are on the quote before you pay anything. If you cancel before dispatch the deposit is refunded in full.
- Card payments are processed by Stripe Payments UK Ltd. Card details go to Stripe, not to us. The name on your card statement is ACQUABUDDY.
6. Delivery
Kerbside pallet delivery to mainland Great Britain, on the terms on our Delivery page, which is part of these terms. Risk in the tank passes to you when it is delivered; ownership passes when we have been paid in full.
7. Returns, refunds and warranty
Your 14-day right to change your mind, what happens if a tank is damaged or faulty, and our 5-year warranty on the glass seams and structure are set out on our Returns & refunds page, which is part of these terms.
8. Your responsibilities
- Check the footprint and height fit your space and that the floor can carry the filled weight (roughly 1 kg per litre of water plus the tank and cabinet). We list the dimensions on every product page.
- Site the tank on a level floor and follow the manufacturer's manual supplied with it. Damage caused by an uneven floor, moving a filled tank, or impact is not covered.
9. Our liability
We are responsible for the tank being as described, of satisfactory quality and fit for purpose. We are not responsible for losses we could not reasonably foresee, or for livestock or water damage arising from how the tank is used after delivery, except where the law says otherwise. Nothing in these terms limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.
10. Problems
Email us first. We reply within one working day and aim to resolve anything within five working days. If we cannot agree, these terms are governed by the law of England and Wales and the courts of England and Wales have jurisdiction, and you can also use the UK courts of the part of the UK you live in.
11. Your rights
These terms sit alongside your rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013. Nothing here takes those rights away.
